~がAのに対して

  • Jan. 7th, 2010 at 11:09 AM
Hi everyone!

I'm revising for a Japanese exam I've got in the next couple of weeks (second year of university), and I was wondering if anyone could help me with a grammar point.

I've just been revising ~に対して and ~に対する。

The next point on my list is ~がAのに対して。 Unfortunately though I can't find my notes on this specific point, and I searched a bit online and couldn't find anything about it... if anyone could explain it for me, like how it is used in sentences and what it means, how it differs from に対する, etc, I would be really grateful. :D

Thank you! ♥

PSP Help - Cropping characters?

  • Jan. 7th, 2010 at 10:06 AM
Hi guys. There's a certain type of icon I'd really like to make, But alas I really struggle with trying to cut and crop the image I want onto somewhere else, So fear the easiest way I've been attempting to do it is by deleting the background out and then doing it that way but it doesn't look particularly tidy when you do so.

I'm using PSP 8 And so far the cropping techniques on there I really haven't learned to use very well at all when I think I've got it I clearly haven't.

I'm hoping to make something similar to this -> http://i187.photobucket.com/albums/x247/maxRISA/lj/franchette-yukiko01b.png made by [info]franchette

Thanks alot.

Episode 144: DaizyStripper Casts Spell of Happiness and Perfect Rainbow in 'Akasaka CIRCUS'

Hello everyone! It's already December 2009. Everything went by so fast! Now that this year's about to finish, have you made any plans for the Year-end and New Year holidays? In Japan, people spend December 31st in many different ways. Some go to countdown events, others get ready to see the sunrise on New Year's Day (which is said to bring good luck). There are also people who stay up late watching special Year-end TV programs. Please send messages to musicJAPANplus and tell us how you spend December 31st in your country♪

In the user info section it still says June's theme(Pokemon) Is there somewhere else I can find out each month's theme other than guessing what it is from each post?

Help with interview translation

  • Jan. 7th, 2010 at 4:35 PM
Hey, I'm translating a 7 page interview about a certain artist's early days, but I'm having trouble with a handful of sentences (mostly his bandmates being slangy, talking in Kansai-ben or both).  I've typed out the whole sections for context, but the bold is the bit I'm stuck on:

Only 5 sentences, but cut anyway )

AIR: Hopeful Eyes - Synopsis.

  • Jan. 7th, 2010 at 1:27 AM

Title: AIR: Hopeful Eyes.
Tagline: Because like air we are there, you just can't see us ...
Chapters: Prologue + 33
Author: [info]luna_no_koibito
Dedicated to: My beloved sister [info]neechanwrites .

Genre: Action, romance, human drama, introspection.
Warnings: Depending on chapter
Rating:
from PG-113 to NC-17 depending on chapter
Pairing: Will be revealed through out the story (I will write them in the headers for every chapter)
Bands: Girugamesh, 12012, MUCC, Buck-Tick, SiD, Alice Nine., ScReW, D'espairsRay, Nightmare, Lynch.
Disclaimer: The story is mine, for me to share. The bands are not … like they would care.
Comment: This fiction will have a prequel called AIR: Hopeful Eyes, and a sequel called AIR: Vengeful Eyes, thus some things will be dealt in depth, in other occasions. But feel free to ask, there might be something that I might simply not have written clearly, in case there were some misunderstandings.

Summary: Something such as the perfect world, does not exist. Earth will never live in peace, because for it be so, war must exist. Just as countless bad things will continue happening, in order for us to appreciate the few good ones, or unfairness will continue to reign undisputed, in order for us to be willing to fight for righteousness. It is just in the natural balance of things, yet as humans we believe in change, we believe in an eventual final victory of the good over the bad; ideally, as humans we have learned to always hope for the best. In doing so, we should be inspired to actually make the change, and not simply sit, and watch. That being said, the reality of things, is that the majority of us will still find it easier to merely accept whatever injustice or harm, and merely run with the flow, but there do exist, even if only a few, some us, who have decided to make the change, and run their own flow...

Removing Network Logo

  • Jan. 6th, 2010 at 10:23 PM
Hi All,

I know I've seen a couple of tutorials about removing network logos. The only one I have is this one: community.livejournal.com/icon_tutorial/9576972.html but I think there were a couple more.

Can anyone help me out?

Thanks :)

ETA: Solved. Found the one I was looking for.
